Depart the Naples' port and a vehicle will drive you up to the end of the road on the crater of volcano Vesuvius. After the check point a short climb on the crater itself to reach the Southern top of the cone at the high of 1200m a.s.l. to gaze the throat of Vesuvius with its smoke. Turn back to our private minibus, now the day proceed with the visit of the ancient excavations of Herculaneum. A small town that was buried completely by the most notorious eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 AD. Today a part of it is an open to the air archaeological site and there are incredibly well preserved private homes, commercial buildings, streets, baths and sport facilities. Together with many amazing mosaics decorations, original murals and artefacts in sitù, Herculaneum give us extraordinary inside of the superb Roman ancient world.
